Our client, a leading provider of marine engineering training, is currently seeking a Technical Training Instructor with Pipefitter experience to join their team in Gosport.
This is a unique opportunity for experienced professionals to mentor the next generation of engineers, leveraging career expertise without prior teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design)
- Teach brazing techniques
- Maintain strong collaboration within the business
- Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches
- Maintain and update training materials, contributing to modernising and improving training delivery
- Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards, and maintain a CPD portfolio
Job Requirements:
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an engineering discipline
- Proficiency in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
- Competent practical coppersmith/pipefitter hand skills
- Proven experience in workshop/industry principles
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification or Train The Trainer Course (or equivalent)
- Previous instructional experience in civilian engineering environment
