Our client, a prominent player in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This dynamic role requires an experienced professional to contribute to exciting projects involving special purpose machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of mechanical components and systems for special purpose machinery
- Utilising Autodesk Inventor for design and documentation purposes
- Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations
- Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems
- Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintaining and updating project documentation and reports
- Attending client meetings and presenting technical information clearly and effectively
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a mechanical engineer within the nuclear or related sectors
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
- Experience working with special purpose machinery is preferred
- Must hold SC Clearance
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work onsite in Chorley for two days a week
