Our client, a prominent player in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This dynamic role requires an experienced professional to contribute to exciting projects involving special purpose machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of mechanical components and systems for special purpose machinery
  • Utilising Autodesk Inventor for design and documentation purposes
  • Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintaining and updating project documentation and reports
  • Attending client meetings and presenting technical information clearly and effectively

Job Requirements:

  • Experience as a mechanical engineer within the nuclear or related sectors
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience working with special purpose machinery is preferred
  • Must hold SC Clearance
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work onsite in Chorley for two days a week
