Our client, a prominent player in the automotive and aerospace industry, is currently seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join their team in Leamington Spa on a contract basis. This role is perfect for someone who excels in mechanical assembly and is keen on contributing to the preparation and build of gearboxes and axles for high-value driveline systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical assembly and testing of gearboxes and axles.
- Prioritise tasks, organise work, and make sound decisions efficiently.
- Navigate systems and processes effectively while performing various tasks.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and manage equipment maintenance.
- Handle problem-solving tasks and escalate significant issues when necessary.
- Support investigations and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Use measurement equipment such as vernier and micrometer.
- Ensure high standards of work while following strict quality, health, and safety procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly and/or end-of-line testing of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, organise workload, and make sound decisions.
- Understanding of quality standards, equipment management, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using measurement equipment.
- Intermediate PC skills with good knowledge of MS Office.
- Good organisational skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Awareness of automotive quality control processes.
- Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English (Grade C or above), and likely completion of a traditional apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Additional Features:
- This role requires being UK-based within the RPP office in Leamington Spa, working 5 days per week.
