What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Detail Designer, you'll produce high‑quality outfit and structural design solutions for naval vessels, ensuring accuracy, compliance and seamless integration across engineering disciplines. You'll play a key role in transforming concepts into build-ready technical outputs while supporting and guiding junior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and detail outfit and structural design solutions for naval ships
- Translate concepts into accurate technical drawings and specifications
- Work collaboratively with multi‑discipline engineering teams
- Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings and schematics aligned to project standards
- Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and compliance
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior designers
- Ensure all design outputs meet safety, regulatory and quality standards
- Review, update and refine designs based on project requirements and feedback
What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential:
- Experience in detailed design within the defence or naval sector
- Proficiency in Foran (mandatory for this role)
- Strong understanding of outfit and structural design principles
- Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail with a quality‑driven approach
Desirable:
- Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting production/manufacturing interfaces
