Our client, a leading player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Senior Detail Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This role focuses on outfit and structures within the maritime naval ships discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and detailing design solutions for outfit and structural components of naval ships
- Translating concept designs into detailed technical specifications
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
- Producing detailed drawings and schematics in accordance with industry standards and project requirements
- Liaising with manufacturing and production teams to ensure feasibility and compliance of designs
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior designers and engineers
- Ensuring all design work complies with safety and regulatory standards
- Reviewing and updating designs based on project feedback and requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electronics design engineering, specifically within the defence sector
- Proficiency in CAD software and design tools - you must have experience with Foran for this role
- Strong understanding of outfit and structural design principles for naval ships
- Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
