Our client, a prestigious organisation within the public sector, is currently seeking a Highway Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of highway improvement schemes, including active travel projects, at various stages of the design process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing concepts and feasibility studies for highway improvement schemes
- Carrying out preliminary and detailed design of active travel schemes
- Creating technical drawings and plans using Autodesk CAD and Civil 3D modelling
- Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver project objectives
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Attending site visits and providing technical guidance on highway projects
- Contributing to project reports and documentation
- Managing project timelines and deliverables efficiently
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway engineering
- Competency in Autodesk CAD and Civil 3D modelling
- Strong understanding of highway design principles and processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Possession of a valid driving licence (Category B)
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment with 2 days/week in the Winchester office
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills
