Safety Advisor | Hyperscale Data Centre Project

Location: Helsinki, Finland (Site-Based) Sector: Critical Infrastructure / High-Tech Construction

Are you an EHS professional who thrives on the fast-paced energy of large-scale European construction? We are seeking a proactive Safety Advisor to join a market-leading delivery partner on a flagship data centre project in Helsinki.

This isn't just a compliance role; it's an opportunity to be part of the most specialised sector in modern construction, ensuring that world-class engineering is matched by world-class safety standards.

The Role

As a vital member of the site management team, you will act as a guardian of safety culture on-site. You will move beyond "checking boxes" to actively influence how we build, ensuring that every operative and sub-contractor returns home safely every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership: Support the Project Management team in upholding a robust Safety Management System and ensuring all statutory Finnish legislation is met.

  • Risk Management: Rigorously review Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS), manage Permits to Work, and oversee COSHH assessments for hazardous materials.

  • Site Presence: Conduct regular audits and inspections, identifying corrective actions and following through to ensure high standards are maintained.

  • Engagement: Coordinate site inductions, deliver impactful Toolbox Talks, and participate in daily whiteboard briefings to keep safety at the forefront of the team's mind.

  • Investigation & Reporting: Manage accident investigations with transparency and speed, ensuring lessons are learned and communicated to the wider project group.

  • Sustainability: Champion waste reduction and recycling programmes in line with our environmental commitments.

Your Profile

You are a detail-oriented safety professional who understands the complexities of a multi-megawatt site. You are as comfortable discussing technical safety specs with engineers as you are briefing a team of subcontractors on the ground.

  • Qualified: You hold a relevant degree in Health & Safety.

  • Experienced: You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience within large-scale construction environments (Data Centres, Pharma, or Industrial projects are highly regarded).

  • Knowledgeable: You possess a deep understanding of current EHS legislation and best practices.

  • Agile: You are a strong communicator with solid IT skills, capable of working independently or as part of a collaborative international team.

  • Flexible: You understand that large projects occasionally require a flexible approach to working patterns to meet delivery milestones.

Why Join This Team?

  • Industry Leadership: Work for a premier name in the data centre sector with a massive European pipeline.

  • Career Growth: Benefit from a culture that actively supports professional development and internal progression.

  • Competitive Package: Receive a highly attractive salary and benefits package tailored to the market.

  • Innovation: Contribute to a high-tech project that is literally building the future of the digital economy.
