Our client, a global leader in aerospace fuel systems, is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Wimborne, Dorset. Known for delivering fully integrated solutions for both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, their Wimborne facility specialises in cutting-edge air-to-air refuelling systems, advanced refuelling probes, and various innovative aerospace technologies. With a legacy of over 80 years, they stand as the world's leading provider of air-to-air refuelling systems, offering fifth-generation solutions to Air Forces worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all required tasks within the MRO facility, including strip, survey, rebuild, and product acceptance testing of new and used products
  • Complete surveys and repairs following agreed practices
  • Adhere to quality principles and regulatory procedures by following defined processes and technical data
  • Carry out assembly, strip, survey, rebuild, and testing of products autonomously (subject to training)
  • Identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities
  • Implement lean manufacturing processes
  • Contribute to the continuous development of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements
  • Participate in tier and team meetings to understand work scheduling and update targets

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in fitting, with a broad product knowledge
  • Ability to interpret technical data with an understanding of fuel systems, mechanical systems, and structural assemblies
  • Apprenticeship, HNC, or similar qualification is desirable
  • Knowledge and/or experience of EASA/CAA pt145 is preferred
  • Understanding of lean methodology and principles
  • Ability to complete tasks on-time and to the required standard
  • Commitment to adhere to EHS requirements and maintain the 5S principles
  • Cooperation with management to meet legal duties and care for personal health and safety, as well as for others
