Rate (per day): PAYE £298.89 (w/holiday £342.34) / Umbrella £409.09

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Specification Engineer for a short-term contract to support the HRMCap Automated Layup Project. This role will develop a detailed technical specification for new Automated Fibre Placement (AFP) systems, covering tool changers, heating systems, services at the head, in-process inspection, and FAT/SAT activities.
This is a critical role in defining the requirements for complex manufacturing equipment, ensuring successful procurement and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and consolidate requirements from internal stakeholders (engineering team, project team, wider business).
Engage with external parties, including customers and equipment suppliers, to validate feasibility and integration.
Translate business and technical needs into a clear, comprehensive equipment specification document.
Ensure specifications align with existing equipment and operational requirements.
Provide technical input during supplier discussions and throughout the procurement process.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in capability acquisition, ideally within composites, or experience specifying large industrial equipment.
Strong ability to write technical specifications for complex machinery or systems.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, liaising across engineering, project management, and business teams.
Experience working with equipment suppliers and understanding integration challenges.
Ability to manage requirements gathering and convert them into actionable technical documentation.
