Our client, an esteemed construction firm with operations in Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe, is keen to appoint a seasoned Senior CSA Design Engineer to work on a major data centre project in London Docklands. This role is part of their commitment to delivering mission-critical projects in sectors such as Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing, and Critical Logistics.
Job Requirements
- Experience in CSA design and delivery for large-scale, complex building projects, ideally within data centre or mission-critical sectors.
- Understanding of data centres or complex building projects is highly desirable.
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE, RIAI) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of UK building codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design packages with a focus on buildability and optimal solutions.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design development of all CSA packages, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Evaluate design solutions for buildability, innovation, cost-effectiveness, and practicality.
- Manage the lifecycle of design packages from initial review through to execution on site.
- Engage proactively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate with MEP and CSA teams to deliver integrated solutions and resolve design challenges.
- Monitor design progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical input during all project phases, including value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Ensure the production of high-quality technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site inspections with a focus on construction optimisation.
- Uphold compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
