The Role

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer with strong HDL development skills and hands-on experience using the AMD (Xilinx) Vivado toolchain, including simulation and verification. Experience with other FPGA platforms will also be considered.

You will play a key role in developing internal IP and delivering client-led projects, primarily across radar, communications and sensing applications. A solid foundation in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is essential, with RF systems experience a strong advantage.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, you will support projects across the full lifecycle - from concept and architecture through to validation and support - collaborating closely with hardware, software and systems engineers. Development is typically targeted at AMD Zynq SoC devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality FPGA and DSP designs with minimal supervision

  • Contribute to design reviews, technical discussions, proposals and time estimates

  • Support client engagement, including pre-contract technical scoping

  • Identify and raise technical risks early

  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams

  • Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate progress

  • Mentor junior engineers (where appropriate)

About You

  • Strong FPGA development background (HDL, Vivado, simulation & test)

  • Solid DSP knowledge; RF systems experience beneficial

  • Comfortable working in a consultancy-style environment

  • Self-motivated, adaptable and willing to take ownership

  • Keen to learn and broaden technical skillsets across disciplines
