Senior Project Manager (66kv-132kv Substation)
Our client, a leading consultancy in the Transmission and Distribution sector, is currently seeking a Project Manager with 66kv -132kv Substations experience to join their dynamic team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale high voltage infrastructure and grid connections, ensuring the delivery of projects from design through to energisation.
Manchester / Yorkshire or Newcastle is where clients offices and would be the ideal locations for candidate hotspots
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing HV and EHV project initial functional requirements into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions
- Managing the development and delivery of HV and EHV projects (cable, overhead, plant, and civil) to meet time, cost, safety, and quality standards
- Interfacing with customers and internal/external resources to develop and deliver HV & EHV projects
- Undertaking the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed HV and EHV projects
- Effectively communicating with internal engineering and industrial resources
- Coordinating external service providers and administering commercial aspects
Job Requirements:
- Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering
- Experience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution plant items operations, controls, and associated systems such as AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, Power Transformers, Underground power cables, and Overhead lines
- Knowledge of engineering standards for HV and EHV Plant, substations (including earthing and electrical clearances)
- Experience in Project Management involving CAPEX and Customer connection projects at voltages from 33kV to 400kV
- Excellent understanding of health and safety and CDM requirements for large scale projects
- Ability to interpret technical documentation related to the design of electrical substations
