Matchtech are supporting the recruitment of an Electrical Project Engineer to work with a key client in Toronto. These positions are looking for permanent staff to work on a hybrid basis.

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in multidisciplinary teams, helping deliver high-quality solutions across a range of projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield lighting, de-icing facilities, and more. You'll gain exposure to every stage of project development, from concept through to construction, while contributing technical expertise, collaboration, and innovation.

Your Role:

  • Coordinate conceptual, functional, and detailed design phases for airport infrastructure projects
  • Develop and review technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design reports, and presentation materials
  • Collaborate closely with internal design teams, subconsultants, and project managers
  • Liaise with clients and project stakeholders, supporting communication and issue resolution
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes across design deliverables
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Analyze project schedules to track milestones and critical path activities
  • Perform field reviews or attend project sites as required to support design or construction activities
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail, deadlines, and team coordination.

Your Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited institution
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration in Ontario
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in Canada, ideally in aviation, transportation, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience working on airport-related projects is preferred
  • Familiarity with TP312 5th Edition, ICAO, or FAA standards is an asset
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using project scheduling or modeling tools is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and work both independently and in collaborative team settings
  • Willingness to travel to project/client sites as needed
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning, problem-solving, and professional growth
