Our client is currently recruiting for an Unlicensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical to support aircraft maintenance activities under the supervision of the appointed Licensed Aircraft Engineer B1. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our client's aircraft fleet. You will be responsible for a range of maintenance tasks including daily checks, scheduled maintenance, component replacements, defect rectification, mandatory inspections, aircraft re-configuration, and servicing, all conducted under the guidance of the supervising Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate in accordance with SHE Technical Standards and implement safe systems of work.
- Apply countermeasures identified in applicable risk assessments to appointed tasks.
- Participate actively in the Safety Management System (SMS) reporting culture.
- Conduct aircraft maintenance tasks in line with approved data and company procedures.
- Certify work within terms of company authorisations and sign off all maintenance actions promptly.
- Complete and report on worksheets/work cards during maintenance activities.
- Be accountable for the maintenance tasks allocated by your supervisor.
- Manage material and equipment compliance for tool control and loose article procedures.
- Ensure all test and ground support equipment is serviceable, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of facilities and equipment within the working environment.
- Assist in monthly workplace inspections and report/rectify findings.
- Support aircraft maintenance activities both at home base and away when required.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management within your capability.
Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical English and basic mathematics.
- Completed Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship, including modules in English, Maths, and Physics.
- Experience in service or commercial aircraft engineering/operations (desirable).
- Ability to work safely in line with risk assessments and technical instructions.
- Dexterity and ability to use basic maintenance hand tools safely.
- Physically fit to undertake manual tasks around and onboard the aircraft.
- Medically fit for maintenance tasks within organisational scope.
- Team-oriented with motivational qualities.
- Customer-focused with exceptional personal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, confident, and assertive with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience with pressurised and/or unpressurised aircraft.
- IT literate with experience in MS Office suite.
- Security cleared to meet current UK and ITAR requirements.
- Knowledge of Human Factors.
