Role details:
Our client, a significant player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Configuration Engineer for a 3-month contract. The position is based in Southampton but offers mostly remote working with occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Configuration and Data Management (CDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, AS, MoD JSPs).
  • Provide guidance to support an integrated digital engineering environment and PLM adoption.
  • Resolve technical, project, and programme conflicts related to CDM and PLM requirements and processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for configurations, customizations, and processes.
  • Develop training materials, such as work instructions, guides, and presentation packs/videos to demonstrate PLM capabilities.
  • Train end-users and support engineers in PLM (Teamcenter Unified) functionalities and best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong administration skills with an attention to detail and a logical mind-set.
  • Good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57 and JSP945, EAI649C.
  • Understanding of PLM principles and best practices, with experience in Teamcenter Unified preferred.
  • Experience developing user guides and delivering user training on a PLM system, ideally Teamcenter Unified.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Teamcenter architecture, modules, and functionalities.
