Our client, a leader in the automation sector, is currently seeking two RPA Developers (Level 2) to join their team in Preston on a 6-month contract basis.

This role offers a remote/hybrid working arrangement with occasional travel to the site as required.


RPA Developer / Automation Developer (L2)

We're expanding our Automation function and looking for a motivated developer to help deliver end-to-end automation solutions that drive real business impact.

You'll work on high-profile projects, collaborate with stakeholders across the business, and help shape the future of enterprise automation.


🔧 What You'll Be Doing

As an Automation Developer, you'll be responsible for designing, building and delivering scalable automation solutions - with a strong focus on Automation Anywhere.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Rebuilding and enhancing existing automations to support major business programmes

  • Designing robust RPA solutions aligned with business and technical requirements

  • Creating and maintaining detailed Solution Design Documents (SDDs)

  • Applying best-practice RPA design principles and development standards

  • Working closely with architects, delivery leads and stakeholders

  • Supporting testing, change management and production readiness

  • Contributing to the development of automation frameworks and delivery models

  • Identifying and managing project risks and issues

  • Working within agile delivery environments to maximise business value


🧠 What You'll Bring

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Accredited Automation Anywhere Developer experience

  • Proven background delivering RPA solutions end-to-end

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset

  • Excellent understanding of workflow-based automation logic

  • Advanced Excel skills including macros and formulas

  • Solid knowledge of development lifecycle methodologies

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Excellent communication - able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Confident, self-motivated and resilient, with the ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)

Desirable

  • Experience of providing consultancy advice to senior stakeholders, peers and team members.
  • Experience of quality assurance of documentation and processes.
  • Experience of dealing with advanced Problem Analysis / Problem Solving methodologies
  • Experience of evaluating complex / dynamic situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Experience of resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
