Our client, a prominent company within the Defence & Security sector, is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Barrow. The position comes with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site presence with remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading planning, monitoring, and control activities within the project environment
Lead for cost control across the AVC project. Ensuring abiding by the budget on a day to day basis. Ensuring in line with the forecast. Updating the spend forecast and being able to articulate any cost variances. Developing the estimate of complection (EAC).
- Able to undertake advanced problem solving typically based on previous experience.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of Business process and procedures.
- Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages.
- Attend on the job training as appropriate.
- Able to lead the PM&C processes on a small project or a work package of a larger project
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in project control within the Defence & Security sector
- Experience as a Cost Lead Expert
- Exceptional leadership and team collaboration skills
- Proficient in using project management tools and methodologies
- Fluent in Excel - SAP would be desirable. Faimilarity with planning tools such as P6 would be advantagoues but not essential.
