Our client, is currently seeking a Principal/Associate Highway Engineer to join their dynamic team.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of an ambitious programme of major projects aimed at enhancing the transport network and boosting the economy.You will be responsible for driving technical quality and service efficiency by using your extensive expertise to build, develop and lead a new Highway Engineering design team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of highway designs on multi-disciplinary projects through all project stages
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff to help them progress in their careers
  • Providing technical support to Project Managers in planning, programming, pricing, and cost estimation
  • Checking, certifying, and authorising for issue designs, documents, approvals, and reports
  • Managing a portfolio of varied multi-disciplinary projects
  • Coordinating engineering and technician resources to deliver work packages
  • Collaborating with clients, key stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project success
  • Occasionally supervising projects on-site, monitoring contractor compliance and ensuring work aligns with project specifications

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience within a highway design role
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred, or working towards IEng or CEng status
  • Passion for design and developing innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of highway design and drainage systems at various project stages
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes such as the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, and TSRGD
  • Proficiency in using or directing the use of software including Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, and/or PDS
  • Experience with Designers Duties under CDM regulations
