About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IVVQA (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification, and Acceptance) Systems Engineer to join a small, cooperative integration and test team. In this role, you will work on the integration and testing of complex maritime navigation and bridge systems, including naval combatants and maritime surveillance projects. You will be a key contributor, helping ensure high-quality system delivery while working in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to capturing customer requirements and provide input for project planning, system specifications, and product documentation.

  • Support test management activities for engineering projects, including effort estimation, scheduling, and task tracking.

  • Create test specifications and plans for integration and system testing.

  • Participate in development and peer review processes.

  • Conduct verification and validation of systems and software, including customer acceptance events (FAT, HAT, SAT).

  • Assist systems and software engineers with debugging and root cause resolution of deviations or issues.

  • When required, conduct configuration repair and testing of customer-returned items.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced in planning integration and testing for complex systems.

  • Skilled in building, configuring, and troubleshooting PC-based systems and network infrastructure.

  • Proficient in tools such as DOORS, SVN, JIRA, MS Office, and Visio.

  • Comfortable working as part of an agile development team (SCRUM).

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of software and systems development, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with publish-subscribe middleware architectures (e.g., DDS).

  • Experience configuring and testing network infrastructure, including switching, routing, security, VLANs, VMs, and encryption.

  • Ability to create software test and deployment utilities using high-level languages or scripting (e.g., Python).

  • Experience testing marine electronics systems such as radar, electronic chart systems, navigation aids, and steering control systems.

  • Knowledge of naval systems integration standards and practices.

  • ISTQB Foundation-level certification is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and cooperative skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with emerging technologies.

Education:

  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
