Our client is currently seeking an NEC4 Project Manager to join their team for an exciting contract opportunity within the highways sector. This pivotal role involves managing major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dublin, specifically focusing on a 12 km tunnel and sewer as part of the Dublin Drainage Scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering NEC3/NEC4 clauses and procedures, including early warnings, programme submissions, compensation events, and change control.
  • Maintaining accurate contractual records and leading commercial discussions and negotiations.
  • Forecasting cost exposure, managing budgets, and reconciling subcontractor claims.
  • Managing geotechnical, groundwater, and temporary works risks, and coordinating ground investigation inputs and mitigation measures.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure urban sites, ensuring competent supervision and clear responsibilities.
  • Championing H&S performance, implementing Safe Systems of Work, permit-to-work systems, and emergency planning.
  • Controlling programme schedules using MS Project/Primavera, identifying float, driving recovery strategies, and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
  • Driving quality assurance and commissioning for pipelines and connections.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts is essential.
  • Hands-on understanding of micro-tunnelling, pipe jacking, TBM, trenchless techniques, and conventional open-cut pipeline installation.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate contractual records and leading commercial discussions.
  • Experience in managing geotechnical, groundwater, and temporary works risks.
  • Strong leadership skills in directing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to health and safety excellence, with relevant safety training such as NEBOSH General Certificate or Safe Pass.
  • Project management training such as APM/PRINCE2/PMI is desirable.
  • Valid driver's licence and CSCS card.

Qualifications and Training:

  • Degree (BEng/BSc) in Civil, Geotechnical, or Construction Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • NEC3/NEC4 Project Manager or NEC training certificate is crucial; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Safety training such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent; Safe Pass.
  • Project management training (APM/PRINCE2/PMI desirable).

Beneficial:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or professional membership.
  • Specialist tunnelling/trenchless training and experience.
  • Familiarity with Irish utilities and local authority standards.
  • BIM/digital delivery experience; proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
