Our client, a prominent London Borough in North London, is seeking a dedicated Highways Engineer on a contract basis to join their Design and Delivery Team. This role involves delivering the design and construction of new schemes within the highways discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering a range of projects from inception to completion through the application of specialist skills
- Conducting inspections and surveys to assess project requirements
- Performing feasibility and options studies for proposed projects
- Managing projects, including budgetary and financial control
- Designing and supervising the construction of highway schemes
- Providing expert advice on environmental and civil engineering design
- Managing highway maintenance and asset management issues
- Maintaining effective contract management and site supervision
- Simultaneously delivering multiple complex projects or work programmes
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway maintenance and asset management
- Expertise in delivering schemes within an urban environment
- Knowledge of environmental and civil engineering design principles
- Ability to perform project inspections, surveys, and feasibility studies
- Proficiency in project management and financial control
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- HNC/BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and expertise
