A leading organisation within the UK defence sector is seeking experienced Test Equipment Engineers to move into a system / sub-system management role. This position focuses on defining, managing, and delivering Test Equipment solutions across the full product lifecycle for complex defence programmes.

You will act as the focal point for Test Equipment requirements, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure compliant, high-quality test solutions are delivered into service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate and manage Test Equipment requirements from internal, domestic, and export customers across the full product lifecycle
  • Define, manage, and control Test Equipment requirements through development, delivery, and in-service support
  • Assess design documentation to demonstrate compliance with CE certification requirements
  • Support cross-functional teams to drive down test solution defects (PRs, CNs)
  • Track, manage, and report test solution defects and corrective actions
  • Act as the primary interface between project teams and Test Equipment suppliers
  • Manage and align customer expectations throughout the development lifecycle
  • Support reporting on test solution time, cost, quality, and performance

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Test, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering
  • Strong background in Test Engineering, ideally including one or more of the following:

    • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems
    • Analogue electronics and RF
    • Power electronics
    • Test Equipment design
  • Good working knowledge of:

    • Product certification against CE directives
    • Requirements capture using DOORS
    • Structured test modelling techniques
    • Project management and planning
  • Proven ability to manage diverse and conflicting stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across engineering and programme teams
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactive, determined, and delivery-focused mindset
  • Willingness to travel when required, including occasional travel to France
