You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable operation of electrical systems across a busy and highly technical waterfront environment. Day to day, you will be responsible for diagnosing faults, undertaking repairs, and carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on a diverse range of electrical equipment and infrastructure.

Due to the nature of the contract, current SC clearance is essential. If required, we will arrange for your existing clearance to be transferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Investigate electrical faults, diagnose issues efficiently, and carry out effective, lasting repairs.
  • Work in full compliance with relevant electrical regulations, safety standards, and site procedures.
  • Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, technical documents, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhanced reliability or system performance (optional enhancement).
  • Collaborate with other trades and operational teams to maintain seamless site operations (optional enhancement).

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in electrical fitting, maintenance, or repair within industrial, commercial, marine, or similarly demanding environments.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation accurately.
  • Proven commitment to safe working practices, including full understanding of statements of work, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and in challenging environments when required.
  • Solid understanding of fault‑finding techniques and electrical system diagnostics (optional enhancement).

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • Qualified to SVQ Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 / HNC or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition qualification beneficial (optional enhancement, if applicable).

Role Details

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, day shift (alternative working patterns may apply depending on site needs).
  • Working Week: 36 hours standard, with an early finish every Friday.
  • Overtime: Available subject to project requirements.
  • Rates:
    • £39.00 per hour (Umbrella)
    • £29.12 per hour PAYE plus £3.51 holiday pay (can be accrued or advanced)
