Our client, a prominent name in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and manage electrical engineering projects and teams, being based at their Elephant and Castle office three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking the CEM and/or CRE role
  • Deputising for the Associate Director as required
  • Developing design from feasibility up to As Built
  • Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
  • Helping to grow the team and developing its technical capability
  • Leading and managing a small team of engineers
  • Mentoring others in CRE roles, and providing discipline training
  • Nurturing a 'get it right first time' culture within the team
  • Producing and issuing progress reports
  • Preparing and conducting presentations to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member of an engineering institute with Engineering Council Professional Registration
  • Experience of undertaking the CEM/CRE/DPE role
  • Experience in managing works in accordance with NR-L2-RSE-02009, Engineering Management of Projects
  • Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
  • Comprehensive knowledge of British Standards and Rail Standards (e.g., Network Rail, HS2, TfL)
  • Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget
  • Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience
  • Proficient in leading meetings and presenting to various stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems from technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintenance perspectives
  • Knowledge of engineering software tools (e.g., Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux)
  • Knowledge of procurement activities and lead times
  • Right to work in the UK
