Our client is an established UK rotary aviation organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Safety & Compliance to take ownership of safety governance and regulatory compliance across a diverse helicopter operation.
This is a key postholder-level role, offering the opportunity to influence safety culture at a strategic level while remaining closely involved in operational oversight. The successful candidate will lead a small, geographically dispersed team and work closely with senior leadership to ensure the highest standards of compliance, assurance, and continuous improvement across multiple bases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Safety & Compliance Department
- Oversee the development and execution of Audit Plans
- Conduct internal audits and audits of sub-contractor organisations
- Manage and follow up on audit findings
- Prepare and analyse compliance monitoring performance data
- Provide expert advice on compliance issues across the company
- Engage with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Champion a safety-first culture throughout the organisation
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis of findings
- Manage hazard identification and risk assessments
- Monitor and report on Safety Performance Indicators
- Develop and deliver relevant safety training
Job Requirements:
- Experience in safety management, preferably within aerospace MRO
- Strong understanding of CAA/EASA regulations and management systems
- Trained auditor with experience in internal audits
- Experience in safety investigations, ideally as a trained investigator
- Proficient in the use of Centrik
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Located within commuting distance of either Biggin Hill or Cornwall; or willing to relocate
