The Opportunity

Our client is a premier, dedicated data centre delivery partner, trusted across the continent to provide full turnkey solutions from initial design to final commissioning. As they continue to scale their operations in Portugal, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Package Manager to take full ownership of the mechanical delivery on a large-scale data centre project in Lisbon.
This is a high-impact role for a professional who thrives on end-to-end accountability and enjoys the challenge of delivering world-class engineering standards on time and within budget.
The Role
As the Mechanical Package Manager, you will be the driving force behind the entire mechanical scope. Your role is to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and on-site execution, ensuring every component of the package is delivered with precision.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Full Package Ownership: Managing the complete lifecycle of mechanical systems-from design coordination and procurement through to installation, rigorous testing, and final commissioning.
Commercial & Schedule Management: Taking full control of project timelines, resources, and costs. This includes managing labour, variations, valuations, and conducting weekly commercial meetings to capture and report costs.
Operational Excellence: Overseeing subcontractor activities and site teams, ensuring a "safety-first" QHSE culture is maintained at all times.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintaining meticulous snagging systems and photographic records, whilst producing high-quality progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
Project Close-out: Leading site reviews and handovers, including the management of O&M manuals, punch lists, and comprehensive QA and safety files.
About You
You are a results-driven manager with a proven track record of coordinating complex mechanical systems. You possess the commercial acumen to manage budgets and the leadership presence to drive performance across diverse teams.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven Experience: Significant project management experience, specifically on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects.
Technical & Design Insight: A strong background in "design and build" environments and a deep technical understanding of modern mechanical systems.
Leadership Prowess: Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage industrial relations and navigate multiple priorities under pressure.
Software Fluency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-standard mechanical software.
