Leading civil engineering contractor seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their established team and support the delivery of a variety of projects in the South West.
This role is a site based role where you will be required to visit various sites in the South West but, there will be a requirement to attend meetings in their Swindon office once a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all project costs in accordance with contractual agreements
- Oversee financial performance, ensuring profit targets and efficiency savings are met
- Administer change control processes and adhere to contractual timescales
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively
- Deliver compliant procurement processes and manage the supply chain
- Handle commercial queries and advise on legal matters, including disputes
- Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and maintain financial logs and forecasts
- Prepare and attend monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and actions
- Ensure compliance with internal and client assurance processes and legislative requirements
- Work with project teams, clients, and suppliers, fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Experience in a civil engineering environment
- Proficiency with NEC Contracts
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Professional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable)
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence others
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
