Leading civil engineering contractor seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their established team and support the delivery of a variety of projects in the South West.

This role is a site based role where you will be required to visit various sites in the South West but, there will be a requirement to attend meetings in their Swindon office once a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all project costs in accordance with contractual agreements
  • Oversee financial performance, ensuring profit targets and efficiency savings are met
  • Administer change control processes and adhere to contractual timescales
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively
  • Deliver compliant procurement processes and manage the supply chain
  • Handle commercial queries and advise on legal matters, including disputes
  • Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and maintain financial logs and forecasts
  • Prepare and attend monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and actions
  • Ensure compliance with internal and client assurance processes and legislative requirements
  • Work with project teams, clients, and suppliers, fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Experience in a civil engineering environment
  • Proficiency with NEC Contracts
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Professional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable)
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
