This is not a call centre role. We are looking for Engineers / Technician's who can clearly explain technical issues, support customers professionally, remain calm under pressure, and confidently represent the company to clients.
Role responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair optical and electronic equipment and associated support systems to agreed quality and turnaround standards.
- Provide technical support to customers, including out-of-hours cover where required.
- Record all work accurately in company failure-reporting systems to ensure full auditability and support trend analysis.
- Conduct inspection and acceptance testing of new equipment.
- Implement and test hardware and software modifications as required.
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness, safety, and security policies.
- Handle and protect sensitive information in line with company security requirement.
Experience needed:
- Hands on electronics fault finding, repair, inspection and testing.
- Experience working across safety-critical Electronics /Systems.
- Strong documentation and procedural compliance.
- Comfort working with complex electronic systems.
- Willingness to learn optical, IR, CCD or sensor-based technology
- Structured approach to diagnostics and repair
- Use of technical publications, drawings, and procedures.
- Accurate recording of faults, repairs and outcomes.
- Comfort working in a small, accountable team.
Desirable:
- Defence is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in the RAF, aerospace, aviation, rail, nuclear, or other regulated engineering environments.
- Optical / Electro-Optical experience is desirable not essential.
