Our Water company client is seeking a Senior Clean Water Hydraulic Modeller based in Havant on a permanent basis with hybrid working considered.

This pivotal role will influence how data, insight and innovation are used to understand and optimise our clients' potable water network. You will provide strategic and technical leadership, develop our modelling capability for the future, and play a key role in strengthening the wider Asset Intelligence function.


Responsibilities

  • Technically and strategically drive the Hydraulic Modelling function including internal and external service provision
  • Maintenance of quality calibration through live modelling and model maintenance.
  • Provide comprehensive direction on hydraulic modelling to the business and serve as potable hydraulic systems SME.
  • Grow hydraulic modelling capabilities in line with industry needs and emerging technology
  • Aim to be leading the industry in terms of Network Intelligence and Insights
  • Assist the growth and development of the Asset Intelligence department
  • Guide modelling tasks, overseeing junior modellers to ensure quality assurance
  • Training and support of junior modelling staff in modelling tools and best practices.


Skills, Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience with InfoWorks Pro including functionality, such as User Programable Controls, Open Data Import/Export Centre including scripts, SQL, and live data configuration.
  • Experience processing and analysing telemetry of SCADA data (flow, pressure, level etc.) and performing demand analytics and studies.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, to produce oral presentations, escalate issues, and write reports for colleagues, non-technical staff and consultants.
  • Recent clean water network model building experience, updating from CAD/GIS and model calibration.
  • Ability to drive delivery of ancillary technical projects, and hydraulic modelling programmes and interacting with Hydraulic Modelling consultants
  • Provision of technical direction in hydraulic modelling
  • Enthusiasm for building a modelling team, playing a proactive part in shaping the growth and development of the direct team, Asset Intelligence and Asset Directorate.
  • Experience with Water Regulatory requirement and impacts on water utilities
  • Familiarity with the relevant British Standards and clean water network modelling specifications of UK water companies
