Strong commercial and analytical background with proven experience in merchandising, stock management and range planning within a multi-channel retail environment.
I am working with a well established home and DIY retailer who is seeking a Merchandiser to join its team on a full time basis in Wimbledon.
Role: Merchandiser
Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Wimbledon (on site)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Key responsibilities for the Merchandiser will include and will not be limited to:
- Managing a category's financial performance, including budget, margin and profit.
- Reviewing daily sales and recommending promotions or markdowns to maximise profit and reduce clearance.
- Working closely with Buyers to plan ranges using sales data and trends.
- Managing Open to Buy (OTB) to maintain the right stock levels across stores and online.
- Overseeing stock flow through Distribution Centres to ensure availability and reduce slow moving stock.
- Building strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Working collaboratively with teams across supply chain, distribution and retail operations.
- Supporting and developing junior members of the merchandising team.
Key skills and experience required for the Merchandiser will include and will not be limited to:
- Experience in merchandising across multiple retail channels.
- Good commercial understanding and ability to use data to make profitable decisions.
- Experience managing stock levels, OTB and availability.
- Organised and able to manage complex tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with different teams.
