Our client, a prominent player in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer (CRE) to join their team on a contractual basis. This role is a critical part of the existing Birmingham Rail project, requiring specialist experience in Mechanical Engineering within Network Rail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys and remedial works on MSFDs, smoke clearance systems, and pressurisation systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Network Rail standards and regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight throughout the construction and design phases.
- Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation for ongoing and completed works.
- Coordinate and manage project activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Carry out risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Oversee the quality control processes to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
- Fulfil occasional night work requirements to meet project demands.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in Mechanical Engineering within the Network Rail environment.
- Network Rail CRE nomination experience in both Construction and Design (C&D).
- Expertise in MSFDs, smoke clearance systems, and pressurisation systems.
- Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
