  • Contract: £350 - £400 per day

  • Permanent: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits


Company Overview

Our client is a specialist lining and utilities contractor delivering multiple multi-million-pound infrastructure projects across London and the South of England. The business is currently active on Thames Water AMP8, with newly secured framework awards with Southern Water and Wessex Water, and ongoing works on major infrastructure projects including HS2 in London.

Due to continued growth and secured long-term workload, they are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of key projects within the water and major infrastructure sectors.


Role Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will support Senior Project Managers in the successful delivery of projects across the Thames Water framework and HS2 works in London. The role will involve both site-based and office-based responsibilities, providing exposure to all aspects of project delivery including planning, commercial management, client liaison, and health & safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a growing specialist contractor working on high-profile frameworks and major projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of projects from inception through to completion

  • Support the delivery of works in line with programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements

  • Assist in coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

  • Support client and stakeholder communications, including attending meetings

  • Assist with cost control, change management, and project reporting

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

  • Support the preparation of project documentation including programmes, RAMS, and reports

  • Contribute to planning, procurement, and resource coordination

  • Provide support across multiple projects as required within the framework environment


Experience & Background

Essential:

  • Experience within water, utilities, civils, or major infrastructure projects

  • Exposure to working on a water framework (AMP projects) or a major project such as:

    • HS2

    • Thames Tideway

    • Crossrail

    • Hinkley Point C

  • Understanding of construction project delivery and site operations

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working for a specialist contractor (utilities, lining, or infrastructure)

  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and framework environments


Qualifications

  • SMSTS (essential or working towards)

  • Relevant Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP or similar - desirable)

  • CSCS (relevant level)
