Are you a Configuration Engineer or Configuration Specialist who would consider relocating for the right role, projects, and long term career opportunity?
Locations: Fife * West Lothian * Hertfordshire (UK)
We're keen to hear from Configuration Engineers and Specialists at all levels, from early-career through to senior and lead professionals, who are open to joining high-performing defence and aerospace programmes. Office bases are available in Fife, West Lothian, or Hertfordshire, with relocation support considered.
The opportunities:
We're supporting a range of configuration management roles within leading defence and aerospace environments, recognised for innovation, engineering excellence, and the delivery of mission critical systems worldwide.
Depending on your experience, opportunities are available at Configuration Specialist, Configuration Engineer, and Senior Configuration Engineer level. You'll support or lead configuration and change control activities across the engineering lifecycle, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and programme teams to maintain product definition, manage change, and protect data integrity across complex systems.
Why consider relocating?
- Opportunities to work on nationally significant, real world programmes rather than purely conceptual R&D.
- Long term programme stability backed by global defence leaders.
- Access to career progression, mentoring, and development within large, well established engineering organisations.
- Hybrid working models (typically 2-3 days onsite) to support work life balance once relocated.
- The chance to build a career in strong UK engineering hubs, with relocation assistance considered to support your move.
Experience & Background: We welcome applications from candidates at all stages of their configuration management careers.
Typical experience may include:
- Use of configuration or product data management systems.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Confident communication with engineers, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Experience contributing to or leading change control activities.
Desirable experience:
- Engineering development environments and lifecycle awareness.
- PLM / CPDM tools, SAP, or similar systems.
- Manufacturing or quality interfaces within engineering programmes.
- Technical documentation or proposal support.
Hybrid working: These opportunities offer flexible hybrid working, with an expectation of approximately three days per week onsite; relocation support may be considered.
Security & Eligibility: Due to the nature of the work, roles require eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance and access to controlled information. Applicants typically need a minimum of five years' UK residency. Dual nationality applications will be considered in line with regulatory requirements.
Office Sites & Relocation: All candidates must be within commutable distance of Hertfordshire, Fife, or West Lothian, or be open to relocating, with relocation support considered where applicable.
Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to get in touch or apply. We are always happy to have confidential conversations about relocation support, role level, and long term career fit.
