Our client, a long-established civil and structural engineering consultancy, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Chichester, West Sussex. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take technical responsibility for a variety of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. The role involves leading design work, supporting junior engineers, and working closely with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and well-considered solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver structural engineering projects across multiple sectors
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, regulations, and best practice
- Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, clients, and other stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and business development activities
- Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism across all work
Job Requirements:
- Chartered or nearing Chartered status (IStructE or equivalent)
- Significant experience in a structural engineering consultancy environment
- Strong design experience in steel, concrete, timber, masonry, and composite structures
- Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and British Standards
- Confident communicator with strong technical and leadership skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
