The Opportunity
We are working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is seeking a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing geotechnical team. The role offers the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and complex engineering projects across the UK and internationally, within a well-established and technically strong environment.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
Deliver geotechnical design and analysis for a range of infrastructure projects, including foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks and ground improvement.
Interpret ground investigation data and produce high-quality technical reports, calculations and specifications.
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and health & safety requirements (including CDM).
Project & Client Interface
Act as a key member of project teams, contributing to design coordination and technical decision-making.
Support project delivery, including programme input, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.
Liaise directly with clients, contractors and internal disciplines where required.
Leadership & Development
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate and junior engineers.
Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and best practice within the geotechnical discipline.
Innovation & Digital
Apply modern geotechnical analysis tools and digital workflows, including numerical modelling where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or close to chartership with a recognised professional body (e.g. ICE, IStructE, IGeol).
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline (MSc advantageous).
Proven experience working in a consultancy or design-led geotechnical role.
Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles and ground investigation interpretation.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Desirable
Experience using geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, FLAC or similar.
Experience working on large infrastructure or multidisciplinary projects.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery constraints.
