Our client based in Lincolnshire, is currently seeking a Principal Building Control Surveyor to join their team. This is a contract role with a 3 days a week working in office/on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of front-line surveyors, ensuring building control functions are delivered according to statutory requirements and council aspirations.
- Ensure buildings are designed and constructed in accordance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Initiate and assist with enforcement actions to meet service obligations under the Building Act.
- Conduct annual safety inspections and provide professional advice on public health and safety related issues.
- Offer expertise and support for the development and delivery of major corporate projects.
- Inspect and check deposited plans and supporting information for compliance with current Building Regulations and related legislation.
- Negotiate with stakeholders to achieve compliance and recommend approval or rejection of plans within statutory timeframes.
- Support the management team and Building Control Manager in driving service excellence and customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- Competence in all building control and administrative matters.
- Significant experience in building control.
- Ability to ensure buildings meet regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility, and design.
- Experience with enforcement action under the Building Act and associated legislative frameworks.
- Registration with the Building Safety Regulator as outlined in the Building Act 1984, Part 2A, Section 58A to 58M.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team of surveyors.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
