Practice Accountant
Location - Portsmouth
Salary - £35,000 - £58,000 depending on experience.

About the Role
We are looking for a confident and capable Accountant with solid experience working within an accountancy practice environment. You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services while building strong, long‑lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting year‑end accounts, tax returns, and related compliance for a range of clients.
- Providing clear tax, compliance and business performance advice while managing ongoing client communication.
- Supporting onboarding processes and ensuring smooth integration of new clients into the practice.
- Completing or reviewing bookkeeping, VAT, CIS and maintaining accurate records while liaising with HMRC when required.
- Contributing to team development through mentoring and maintaining your own CPD and professional growth.
About You
- Fully qualified or part‑qualified with a recognised accounting body (ACCA, CIMA)
- Minimum of 1 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- Confident preparing accounts and tax returns to review stage
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Highly organised, able to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
