The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of diverse and complex civil engineering projects within the rail sector. Working alongside a highly skilled team, you will champion technical excellence, support junior engineers, and play a central role in shaping project outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare outline and detailed designs for a broad range of civil engineering projects
- Lead and support check/approve processes throughout project delivery
- Undertake designer duties in accordance with CDM/CSM legislation
- Engage with clients to support effective project delivery
- Contribute to business improvement initiatives and wider company objectives
- Maintain ongoing professional development
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff
Required Experience
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) with ICE, IStructE or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in civil engineering, ideally with experience acting as CRE or working towards CRE status
- Strong background in civil engineering design within the rail industry, including familiarity with Network Rail standards
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Solid understanding of civil design principles, construction methods, and relevant standards
- Experience working with Eurocodes
- Proven ability to deliver projects in line with safety standards and CDM/CSM requirements
- Commercial awareness, including programming and delivery to budgets and timescales
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as TEDDS and Supersuite
- Ability to produce and review drawings using 2D/3D MicroStation
