Matchtech are working with a long‑established and well‑respected construction contractor in the Northeast, who are looking to appoint an experienced Build Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

Projects typically range from £1m-£20m, with a strong forward order book and excellent long‑term stability.
The Role
As a Build Estimator, you will support the wider Estimating Team in preparing competitive and compliant tender submissions. You'll play a key part in early project involvement, pricing strategy, and handover to the delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents and contribute to the overall bid strategy
- Undertake project site visits to gather essential information
- Assess financial, technical, and operational risks
- Work with internal teams to determine resource requirements, programme, and pricing approach
- Prepare bills of quantities and detailed price breakdowns
- Identify and engage with approved suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare and analyse tender submissions, including subcontract enquiries
- Coordinate final bid reviews and management sign‑off
- Conduct tender handover meetings and present pricing build‑ups
- Stay up to date with construction methods, techniques, and industry developments
Requirements
- Experience working with JCT and NEC contract forms
- Knowledge of Estimating Software (Causeway preferred)
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
