Matchtech are working with a long‑established and well‑respected construction contractor in the Northeast, who are looking to appoint an experienced Build Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

Projects typically range from £1m-£20m, with a strong forward order book and excellent long‑term stability.

The Role

As a Build Estimator, you will support the wider Estimating Team in preparing competitive and compliant tender submissions. You'll play a key part in early project involvement, pricing strategy, and handover to the delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents and contribute to the overall bid strategy
• Undertake project site visits to gather essential information
• Assess financial, technical, and operational risks
• Work with internal teams to determine resource requirements, programme, and pricing approach
• Prepare bills of quantities and detailed price breakdowns
• Identify and engage with approved suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare and analyse tender submissions, including subcontract enquiries
• Coordinate final bid reviews and management sign‑off
• Conduct tender handover meetings and present pricing build‑ups
• Stay up to date with construction methods, techniques, and industry developments

Requirements

• Experience working with JCT and NEC contract forms
• Knowledge of Estimating Software (Causeway preferred)
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
