Our client BAE Systems, a leading company within the Defence & Security industry, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Control & Instrumentation) to join their team on a 12-month contract. This role is part of the Submarine Solutions business unit, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement that includes one week a month on site in Barrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing control and instrumentation (C&I) systems for the Dreadnought programme.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure C&I boxes are integrated efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing technical expertise in electrical control and instrumentation engineering.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety-critical industry standards and Defence & Security regulations.
  • Maintaining documentation and project oversight using tools such as M/S and Teamcentre.

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in electrical engineering with a strong background in control and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in working with safety-critical industries.
  • Experience with supplier management and integration of C&I systems.
  • Knowledge of M/S and Teamcentre software tools.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally chartered.
  • Understanding of Defence & Security protocols and standards.
  • Security clearance level SC + UK eyes only.
