Our client, operating within the Transmission and Distribution (T & D) sector, is currently seeking a Site EHS Specialist to join their team on a contractual basis. This role is crucial in maintaining and ensuring health and safety standards on various projects, with a hands-on approach to onsite management and contractor coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Conducting site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Ensuring a thorough understanding and application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
- Overseeing and managing contractors to ensure they adhere to health and safety requirements
- Providing health and safety training and inductions to site personnel
- Investigating and reporting on incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventative measures
- Facilitating communication and coordination between different teams to ensure a safe working environment
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health and safety records and documentation
Job Requirements:
- Experience in health and safety management within the T & D sector
- Strong understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
- Proven experience in managing and coordinating contractors
- Comfortable working onsite and conducting safety inspections in various environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Relevant health and safety qualifications or certifications
