Our client is seeking a Lane Rental Officer to join their high-performing team on a contract basis. This position is based within the dynamic and fast-paced world of highways management and introduces the new lane rental scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and implementing the lane rental scheme for the borough
- Planning, organising, and scheduling street works in collaboration with various stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
- Coordinating with utility companies and contractors to minimise disruption to road users
- Monitoring and auditing street works to ensure adherence to regulations and standards
- Providing expert advice and support in relation to streetworks and lane rental policies
- Maintaining accurate records and producing detailed reports on lane rental activities
- Facilitating effective communication and coordination between all parties involved in street works
Job Requirements:
- Experience in streetworks and a thorough understanding of the NRSWA
- Strong knowledge of highways management and streetworks legislation
- Proficiency in planning, organising, and coordinating street works
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in an office-based team environment
