We are seeking an experienced Working Foreman / Quality Inspector to join our team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for a time‑served Fabricator/Welder with supervisory experience who is working towards a CSWIP qualification. Candidates who do not currently hold a CSWIP qualification will be fully supported and put through the certification by the client.

This role offers a strong blend of hands‑on fabrication and leadership within a busy marine fabrication environment.

The Role

This position combines practical responsibility with team leadership and quality assurance duties, including:

  • Carrying out hands-on fabrication and welding work
  • Supervising and leading a skilled workshop team
  • Conducting welding inspections while working towards a CSWIP qualification
  • Ensuring QA/QC compliance, documentation, and traceability
  • Supporting shipbuilding and marine engineering projects
  • Maintaining high quality standards and driving productivity and safety

Requirements

  • CSWIP Welding Inspector (3.1 minimum) or willingness to work towards it, training and certification provided by the client
  • Time-served Fabricator/Welder (SVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong fabrication, welding, and site-based experience
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Marine or shipbuilding experience (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
