Our client is seeking a skilled Clerk of Works to oversee and monitor construction projects on site. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to industry standards, health and safety regulations, and project specifications. With significant experience in highway projects and NEC contract knowledge, you will be the key link between contractors, consultants, and clients, ensuring smooth communication and exceptional standards of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure work on site complies with Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Liaise effectively between contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical or design issues rapidly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of site activities, including photographic records and detailed logs.
- Inspect workmanship and materials to confirm they meet project specifications, drawings and industry standards.
- Produce regular reports on progress, safety, and any issues or defects encountered, for stakeholders.
- Identify, document, and track the rectification of non-compliant work or defects.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in highways construction projects, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC contracts and experience applying them on site.
- Ability to liaise confidently between multiple stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
- Experience in quality inspection, defect management, and progress reporting.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous record keeping abilities.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to highway and infrastructure projects.
- Relevant construction management or engineering qualification preferred.
