We're supporting an innovative automotive client who are seeking a dynamic Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support a broad portfolio of CAPEX, category management, logistics, MRO, and other key procurement activities.

  • Role: Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist
  • Duration: 9 - 12 Months
  • Rate: £400 - £500 p/day (Inside IR35)
  • Location: Oxfordshire (2/3 days on-site)

In this role you will be involved heavily with pre‑contractual activity on a large project, while also providing flexible support across a range of procurement categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre‑contract activities for a large-scale, high‑value procurement workstream.
  • Support supplier selection for system manufacturing.
  • Draft and negotiate framework agreements and detailed supply orders (system assembly, aftermarket parts).
  • Negotiate bespoke terms including warranty, delay damages, performance criteria, and commercial risk.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, legal, logistics and programme teams.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end procurement processes for CAPEX projects (equipment, test assets, asset disposal etc.).
  • Contribute to building a long‑term category management plan to simplify and structure procurement activities.
  • Provide hands-on support across logistics, MRO and outsourcing categories as required.
  • Full lifecycle responsibility: supplier identification, prequalification, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award.
  • Draft, review and execute contractual documents confidently.

This role requires someone who can operate autonomously, draft and negotiate complex contracts, and thrive within a fast‑changing environment with evolving programme priorities.

Key Experience:

  • Strong background in automotive, major CAPEX projects, engineering or similar environments.
  • Strong pre‑contract and contract drafting experience
  • Proven negotiation skills across complex, high-value, multi-party agreements.
  • Experience managing global suppliers
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with rapid decision cycles.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder management capability.
  • Capable of supporting multiple categories simultaneously and flexing to evolving business needs.
