Our client, a leader in the space sector, is currently seeking AIT Technicians to join their team in Harwell.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components, sub-assemblies, and systems according to technical drawings and work instructions
- Perform electrical wiring, cable harnessing, and connector terminations following industry standards
- Perform soldering and rework activities following industry standards
- Create and maintain risk assessments
- Record test data accurately and complete all required documentation
- Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly or test issues, supporting engineering in root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain a clean, organised, and ESD-safe working environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the AIT department
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a hands-on assembly, integration, or test role
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong practical skills in mechanical fitting, wiring, and assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience using hand tools, torque tools, and test instruments
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of health & safety and cleanroom/ESD practices
- Fibre optics handling and cleaning experience
