Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Configuration & Data Management Engineer for a 6-month contract near Reading. This position largely involves remote working, with occasional travel to the client's site as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all required deliverable and non-deliverable contract data are properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.
  • Administering the project's Configuration Change Control Board (CCCB).
  • Supporting ongoing Data Management processes, including Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP).
  • Applying and administering Configuration Planning.
  • Executing Configuration Identification and Change Management.
  • Conducting Configuration Verification and Audits in compliance with Customer, Company, Security, and Program Standards.
  • Managing digital files and work products, including those imported from the Authority and suppliers.
  • Championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Carrying out any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong working experience of Change Management and Data Management.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Windchill.
  • Understanding of records management.
  • Knowledge of how to locate Configuration Management & Data Management (CMDM) processes and artefacts.
  • General awareness of the Five Configuration Management (CM) Pillars.
  • Awareness of the importance of handling data and documents in accordance with the Government Security Classification Policy (GSCP).
  • Experience with Kahootz and/or SharePoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working within a defence organisation.
  • Experience with ITIL 4.
