Role Summary

An industry-leading specialist in turnkey infrastructure projects is seeking a skilled engineer to join their mechanical division in Finland. This site-focused role involves driving the technical execution of large-scale projects, from initial tender analysis and plant procurement through to final commissioning. You will be instrumental in ensuring that complex mechanical services are perfectly coordinated and delivered to the highest standards.

Primary Responsibilities

To ensure seamless project delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Technical Oversight: Managing design workflows and reviewing tender documents to ensure all technical specifications are met.

  • Procurement & Plant Selection: Identifying and selecting appropriate machinery and materials, managing the submittal process, and overseeing technical purchasing from specialist vendors.

  • Coordination & Sequencing: Liaising with various contractors to ensure all mechanical services integrate correctly and scheduling pipework installations to meet strict project timelines.

  • Safety & Compliance: Drafting essential construction documentation, including risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), while ensuring all HVAC outputs adhere to safety protocols.

  • Commercial Management: Validating project budgets upon handover from the estimating team and assisting with cost tracking, monthly valuations, and final account settlements.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a primary point of contact for client communications and managing the installation programme through to the final handover.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal applicant will possess a blend of technical expertise and project management acumen:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: Proven background in a similar engineering capacity within a mechanical and electrical (M&E) contracting environment.

  • Core Competencies: Strong experience in design management is a prerequisite for this role.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to organise tasks, communicate effectively with diverse teams, and manage time in a high-pressure environment.

  • IT Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project
