Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Charge Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Glascoed. This role will involve working on-site for three days and remotely for one day each week over a 12-month duration. This unique opportunity will allow you to leverage your chemical engineering expertise in a highly specialised field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing charge solutions in line with project requirements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant safety and product assurance standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise designs and improve efficiencies
- Conducting detailed technical assessments and feasibility studies
- Documenting design processes and maintaining accurate records
- Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Implementing best practices in chemical engineering and adherence to industry regulations
- Reviewing and analysing performance data to refine and enhance charge designs
Job Requirements:
- Strong background in chemical engineering
- Experience with propellants and explosives design
- Knowledge of product assurance and quality standards relevant to the Defence sector
- Proficient in conducting and interpreting technical and safety evaluations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
