Our client, a prominent public sector organisation in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Highways Inspector to join their Reactive Maintenance team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough inspections of highways and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Managing and overseeing contractors to ensure timely and quality maintenance work
- Responding to reactive maintenance issues and prioritising tasks effectively
- Utilising systems such as Symology or Aurora to track and report on highway maintenance activities
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient project completion
- Preparing detailed reports and documentation on inspection findings
- Providing expert advice on highway maintenance practices and standards
- Ensuring all works are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in highways inspection and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of highway safety standards and regulations
- Experience in contractor management and overseeing maintenance works
- Proficiency with systems such as Symology, Aurora, or similar
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to respond to and manage reactive maintenance issues efficiently
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
- Relevant qualification in highways, civil engineering, or a related field
