Senior Project Manager - Defence Technology Projects

Are you a driven, experienced Project Manager looking for your next challenge in cutting‑edge defence technology? If you thrive on variety, enjoy solving meaningful problems, and want to work in an environment where your ideas genuinely matter, this could be an outstanding opportunity for you.

We bring together talented people - engineers, scientists, analysts, creatives - and give them the trust, tools, and freedom to innovate. What unites us is a shared mission: to build technology that protects what matters most, today and for the future.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a confident, proactive Senior Project Manager to join our Defence-focused team. You'll lead the bid and delivery of a diverse range of hardware and software development programmes - from early research and rapid prototyping through to full solution delivery.

You'll be at the heart of programmes that shape the future of defence capability, working closely with technical teams, customer stakeholders, and delivery partners.

This role offers:

  • End‑to‑end ownership of complex, high-impact projects
  • The chance to work across UK and international defence initiatives
  • A supportive culture where autonomy and creativity are genuinely valued

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the delivery of clear, competitive bids alongside technical and account teams
  • Managing hardware and software projects from concept through to completion
  • Providing strong assurance and governance to ensure milestones are met
  • Building excellent relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners
  • Planning and supporting trials, demonstrations, and key events
  • Managing project finances, resources, risks, and dependencies
  • Creating and leading highly effective project teams with clear objectives
  • Driving opportunities for expansion and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • A degree or equivalent professional background
  • APMP, PMP, or similar project management accreditation
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven experience delivering defence-related hardware/software projects (up to ~£5m)
  • Confidence working across all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Solid commercial understanding, including financial forecasting
  • Experience engaging with the UK Ministry of Defence or Prime contractors (desirable)
  • Flexible, collaborative mindset and ability to navigate complex delivery environments

Why Join Us?

You'll have access to:

  • A competitive salary and a wide range of flexible benefits (health, wellbeing, lifestyle, savings & protection)
  • A friendly, inclusive, and creative working culture
  • Active internal communities and groups for people with shared technical and non‑technical interests
  • Genuine opportunities to grow and contribute to meaningful, mission-led projects

We're committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities - and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who want to make a difference.
